5G NPN Performance Evaluation for I4.0 Environments

This paper aims to develop an open Asset Administration Shell (AAS) solution for 5G Non-Public Network (NPN) management, focusing on manufacturing digitization and complete Information Operational Technology (IT/OT) convergence. The proposed NPN framework is evaluated in a factory-like simulation scenario considering network slicing I4.0, demonstrates the outlook of communication industrial domain, achieving upload data rate up 86 Mbps, Round-Trip Time (RTT) end-to-end as low 11 ms. integrates OPC UA enabler middleware across different protocols, equipment, shop floor, with target aggregating creating insights production optimization unified manner. combines NPNs I4.0 environments, form FNMS its corresponding AAS. In parallel, set enablers are investigated within project, covering Time-Sensitive (TSN) floor. main objective this propose method integration various domain their combination technology, evaluate feasibility hosting applications services over channels through implementation schemas. presents detailed experimental regarding downlink/uplink rates RTT delays.
